Denmark Vs. Slovenia Part I

Like I've promised I'm going to give you a comparison between Slovenia and Denmark (lifestyle) of course from my perspective. I'm in a dilemma, on one hand I have to present both countries as they are/were and on the other I must try no to overlook and suppress the progress Slovenia has made this past few years.

Let's start from the top. First major difference I've perceived while crossing the border with Germany on the ferry is Denmark’s countryside. Everybody knows if you drive thru Slovenia you see small fields, each has different plant planted on it. Well not in Denmark. One field would be equivalent to min 4 or 5 of ours, and even if you try hard enough, you won't see the end of it. Of course you'll automatically say Denmark is bigger country, well that is true but it's not as big as you think, since it’s only twice as big as Slovenia.

Another thing I've notice right from the beginning is the speed limit on high-ways. It's only 110 km/h maybe to somebody that doesn’t seem as a big difference, but if you consider that I haven't seen one car that would surpass this limit for more then 10km/h then that’s a different story. So while your driving according to speed limit, everybody is doing the same. That was a big shock to me, since I'm not used to doing 130km/h (Slovenian speed limit, which I obviously obey) on a freeway let alone 110. I've try to understand, why noone is speeding and well frankly the only explanation I could come up with is that there are high speeding tickets and Denmark is more civilized nation. A friend told me an interesting thing few weeks later. You can’t find any speed controls on high-ways, because people are so used to drive inside these limits, there is no need for police to control them.

After this first shock, we came to Denmark’s capital-Copenhagen and where we up for a few shock of our lives,…

Why not Slovenian language?

Hello

First let me say it's nice to see some comments this past days, and all thou not all of them are in English, they are still welcomed;) Now I'm briefly going to answer you, the question I'd been asked numerous times since I've started this blog. The question is of course, why do I write in English?

There are some general reasons why I'm writing in English. I'm not ashamed of writing in Slovenian as some of you suggested, I'm proved to be able to speak Slovenian language or should I say I'm blessed;) But all thou it is useful while walking on Slovenian soil and while you’re talking "behind peoples backs" aboard, it is not language with which I can address my audience. Why you ask? Well because I've got information that proves most of visitors on this site are non-Slovenian speaking and therefore they can't understand a word I’d wrote in Slovenian. Plus my Slovenian writing is as bad as English or maybe even worst. I'm not ashamed to tell you that since it's is a fact, which can be proven with my test results in High school. So for all of you who think that because I was an exchange student in Denmark for few months all of a sudden I've forgot my native language or I'm ashamed of it, think again. That is not even close to the truth. I've chosen to wrote in English because I can, I think I can express myself better and because my public can speak English as well. I'd write in German, but well let's not start with that o.k.;)
At the end I'd like to ask people who post comments to use English language, since comments are for other people to see them as well. Thanks and I hope you'd enjoy my explanation. Next time I'm going to discuss another question I’m tired of answering every time I see an old acquaintances and that is "What's the difference between Slovenia and Denmark?"

How to talk bS part I

Alo

In past years I've realized that talking in some cases is a waste of time, money and effort. That is why I usually just listen to the people and only sometimes speak. But once in a while there comes a time I have to speak and that time is for me considered the best time to use my "bull-shit" or the "non-informative" talk (thats how I call it personally).
It would be good for the people who've never done talked in that way, to
listen somebody who has loads of experience in it. Luckily for me I had one of the best teacher, a pupil of non-informative talk can have. In the beginning you might be in doubt whether the person is telling the truth or not, but don't be fooled. It's a lie, and since a good "bull-shit" talker can spot a victim from miles away there are more lies to come.
So your probably wondering how can I learn to talk rubbish? Well first you must pick your “opponent”, you should start with somebody who wants to listen to you (don't pick experiance "bs" talker. When you find such a person, start conversation with him and gradually implement some stupid comments in it. A stupid comment might be, (one of my favorites) “Theres only one thing easier than barking”. If the opposite side realizes you’ve made such a comment, than you’ve made a mistake and you’ll have to start over….

Slovenia

Hi.

As some of you might know I come from a country called Slovenia. That is the main reason I've decided to shortly present Slovenia. SLOVENIA (official Republika Slovenija) is a CENTRAL European country which became independent in year 1991. We are located between Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. The population of Slovenia is around 2 million (not 22,5 or 40 as some of you think;). Slovenia spreads on a area of around 20 thousand square kilometers. Our ex-currency is Tolar, but now we are "proud" members of Euro since January 1, and of course a 3 year-old member of EU.
But if we put aside the "official" information I've got to tell you Slovenia is one of the beautiful country in the world. And not just saying that because I'm Slovenian, but because it's just true. With mountains on the North, Lakes in the central and south part , Caves and sea it has everything one can imagine. Its the diversity that separates us for the others.
Ok your probably thinking so what there are some countries that have all that. That true, but because of our "smallness" you can ski from 8-12 and swim in the sea at 14. You don't believe me, well there's only one thing you can do and that is to visit us and see it for yourself;) You can find more about Slovenia on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slovenia

I'd like to take a few moments of you time and talk to you about comments. Judging for the current situation on the blog I can see that many of you are not familiar with the word comment. So i've decided to give you an quick tutorial and explanation about comments.

com·ment /ˈkɒmɛnt/
–noun
1. a remark, observation, or criticism: a comment about the weather.
2. gossip; talk: His frequent absences gave rise to comment.
3. a criticism or interpretation, often by implication or suggestion: The play is a comment on modern society.
4. a note in explanation, expansion, or criticism of a passage in a book, article, or the like; annotation.
5. explanatory or critical matter added to a text.
6. Also called rheme. Linguistics. the part of a sentence that communicates new information about the topic. Compare topic (def. 4).
–verb (used without object)
7. to make remarks, observations, or criticisms: He refused to comment on the decision of the court.
8. to write explanatory or critical notes upon a text.
–verb (used with object)
9. to make comments or remarks on; furnish with comments; annotate.

from http://dictionary.reference.com/

So first point tells us that a comment is an observation etc,.. Why don't you observe then? Are you afraid? You don't know how? Or you think that your comment can't match my superior posts? Please comment something;) lp

Hello
It's been quite a long time since I last wrote for this so called blog. But today is a new day and I've decided it's a perfect one for a new post.

I'd like to start by saying I was always impressed by the amount of unimportant facts regarding "celebrities" "ordinary" people can consume in a shot period of time. I never did understand why do we need to know how Beyoncé dreams about acting in a Clint Eastwood movie or how did Jared Leto broke his nose. I'm sorry to disappoint all the gossip loving fans around the world, but I frankly don't get how that will in anyway make you feel better or let alone improve your life. Like you don't have enough problems in the life you need to read other peoples problems so you can do what?
But if lets say for a moment understand I can understand people who are reading this text, I surely can't understand people who found them and wrote them. How low must you fall in your life to stalk another life being where ever he goes and then talk about the thing he did or did not during his day. Where does that end? Or does it even end?
The only thing I can say people have evolved into a weird yet not normal subject, that are more interested in people that they barely know.
